Granule Processing Continuous Drying Shugi FB

If you are interested in the continuous drying of granules than Custom Powders can also be of service to you. We have available a continuous fluid bed dryer from the company Shugi. This dryer is part of our agglomeration unit but can also be used as a stand-alone piece of equipment for the drying of granules.

In this dryer the granules are moved through four zones from the start of the dryer to the end of the dryer. The transportation of the granules is supported by moving hot air. At the end of the dryer the granules are discharged and can, if required, be sieved in-line before packing off.

The dryer is equipped with an extraction system that will effectively remove the moisture as well as possible dust and fines created in the drying progress. In combination with the inline sieving you can expect a virtually dust free end product.

Granule Processing Continuous Drying Shugi FB

In order to dry granules we use specially designed fluid bed dryers. This fluid bed dryer is part of our agglomeration system and is virtually specifically designed for the drying of freshly produced granular material from our Shugi Flexomix or Lödige CB-30. This Shugi Fluid bed dryer is a stationary dryer without moving parts. The product is dried and transported by the hot air.

Our fluid bed dryer is designed with 4 zones (3 heating zones and the last one for heating or cooling). Every compartment is provided with a separate air inlet.

This means that we can set the individual temperature zones specifically to the required drying characteristics of the individual products.

Next to that we can also vary the residence time of the product in the dryer. This again gives us the opportunity to set the drying process up specifically for a certain product.

In order to cool the product we would normally use ambient air in the last zone of the burner but it is also possible to use conditioned air for that.

The dried and/or cooled product at the end of the dryer is discharged and moved on by means of a special transportation belt.

In principal, the granules we can process in this dryer should have a minimum size of about 200 micron. The maximum temperature available in the dryer is in a range between 300° and 400°C.
