1. We are pleased to advise that Nick Hopper B Eng, technical director for Custom Powders Ltd has taken over responsibility for the manufacturing operations at the Helmond factory. His trials are to increase utilisation of the existing capacity by 30%, prior to expanding into additional process units on the adjacent site.
2. We are pleased to announce that Mark Chadwick B.Sc has joined us as process development manager, working for both Crewe and Helmond factories. His arrival will enable the group to offer more assistance to prospective customers in the selection of the appropriate process for their needs.
Custom Powders has limited laboratory facilities to develop processes but works very closely with it’s suppliers and then undertakes small scale operations on the smaller of its production facilities.
3. The group has seen a 25% increase in the number of enquiries for its services over each of the last two years. This has been most noticeable for the UK, due to an increasing interest in the processing of edible products.
Enquiries from Germany have also increased as German companies increasingly look outside their national boundaries for manufacturing services.
4. Custom Powders has launched Ourgranulefactory as a brand name to reflect that part of its business which caters for long term processing at cost effective prices in dedicated plants. Quantities are typically 1,000 to 5,000 t/yr. Custom continues to be the brand name used to promote its wide variety of manufacturing services, which are available at short notice for quantities large or small.
