Hundreds of tonnes of often complex formulations have been accurately blended.
Multi-component batch blending with double checks on formulation is routine work.
New in house developed loss in weight technology now allows continuous formulation with accurate addition as low as 0.5%.
Accurate formulation and blending of active ingredients is essential to our successful business in the Animal Health sector.
GMP validated procedures exist for single and multistage blending processes.
20 years faultless performance for 5 multinational companies.
Speciality chemicals is probably the most diverse sector in terms of formulation requirements.
From 0.5% addition of anticaking or powder flow modifiers to multiple component blends many products are formulated in our contamination free process suites.
Equipment is cleaned, checked and made suitable even for medical grade products.
At its most complex, we have continuously blended 3 different grades of inorganic salt with a liquid for oil industry applications.
Thousands of tonnes of detergent components have been formulated and blended.
The addition of a very low level of 1 component to bulk products is our speciality.
Powder formulation is frequently associated with blending in order to bring different chemicals together consistently in one product. However formulation can also be required in order to achieve a modified performance in a raw material.
In every case we use our experience and skills to ensure the formulated product meets the specific performance requirements of our customers.
Powder formulation processes are mobile and are available for use in eight of the 16 self-contained process units in our Crewe (UK) and Helmond (NL) factories. The technology includes:
- Formulation and blending using batch mixers – (click here)
- Formulation and blending using fluid bed batch systems – (click here)
- Formulation and blending using continuous system – (click here)
All units are fully stripped and cleaned after use. Units are then visually inspected before purging and physical examination of the purge material.
FORMULATION SERVICES USING BATCH PROCESS
More than 20 years of experience operating to GMP standards while formulating and blending animal health medicated products. We have a rigorous accurate batch card system with independent checking of every critical stage of the process.
We have developed specialist processes for specific customer requirements, in one example we accurately dose 0.1% of a liquid into a powder blend.
We can offer this service to food, pharmaceutical excipient, animal health and industrial standard in a wide range of process suites in the UK and NL factories.
FORMULATION SERVICES USING CONTINUOUS PROCESSES
Our unique control systems are capable of continuously dosing and accurate weighing of material into our processes. We can now combine up to 5 feeds (powder and/or liquid) into one process using these systems.
These loss in weight systems routinely deliver accuracy better than 1%, moreover the systems are self-auditing and data log performance throughout the duration of their operation.
FOOD SAFETY STATEMENT
As a processor of food products and in order to maintain our high standards of hygiene and care, we assess all materials to be brought on site. The following materials are excluded from being brought onto the site:
- Genetically modified materials
- Materials with Hazard Identification of Toxic to Human
- Glass powders
- Products of animal origin
In addition any material recognised as an EU food Allergen is excluded from food processing units.
All food processors are HACCP assessed before production starts, customers are invited to be part of the procedure and can request a copy of the HACCP assessment.
Your requirements for Kosher and Halal certification are possible for any food process offered. Due to the often unique process for each product, this is completed on request, on a Customer by Customer basis.
