SPECIALIST GRINDING

CRYOGENIC GRINDING

Controlled cooling with liquid nitrogen is achieved by means of two insulated cryogenic screws mounted in series. Ninety-six hammers provide the grinding action in an atmosphere of nitrogen which makes it moisture free. Particle size classification is achieved by sieving.

COOL GRINDING

The combination of a well designed mill and high volumes of ambient air achieves cool grinding. Where necessary additional cooling is achieved by the injection of liquid nitrogen or vapour. Hammer mills are used for medium sized grinding or classifier mills where tighter distributions are required.

INERT GRINDING

The main application is for products which form dust explosions. The grinding takes place at ambient temperature in a nitrogen rich atmosphere which is constantly monitored for its oxygen content. For added security, explosion suppression equipment is installed. The mill usually selected for this application is a classifier mill due to its ability to achieve very fine particle size.
