  • A graduate chemist from Liverpool University with MSc in Powder Technology from Glasgow University. 14 years previous experience in a large international company in product and process development for the detergent markets.

  • Joined Custom Powders BV in 1996 as operations manager.
  • 2000 became Commercial Director.
  • Became Food Safety Team Leader.
  • Graduated at Erasmus University Amsterdam with a Masters degree in public administration. Then worked as a recruitment officer prior to joining Custom Powders BV.

Nick Hopper

  • Technical support and plant development for UK and NL sites.
  • Joined Custom Powders Ltd in 1990 as a Development Manager.
  • Food Safety Team Leader (Crewe)
  • Led the design and construction of the Custom Powders Dutch site in 1995 and the start of production in 1996.
  • Previously a Production Development Manager at BA Chemicals Ltd. A member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a Graduate Engineer from Birmingham University.

  • Employed in an accounting role at Air Products for 12 years.

  • Joined Custom Powders Limited in September 2019 as Quality Manager.

  • Quality and Environmental Manager and Food Safety Team Leader (Crewe).
  • Previous roles held as a Quality Engineer with over 12 years’ experience as a Quality professional, including responsibilities for Process Improvement, Supplier Development and Health and Safety.
  • Graduated from Coventry University in 2006 with BSc Honours First Class in Business and Technology Management.

The production team

With 8 to 30 years of experience in contract powder processing this dedicated team of individuals will look after your product.
Each operator is trained and capable of running all Custom Powders Ltd processes, they are skilled in physical testing and analysis of powders and routinely analyse product during production.
All operators are trained to a high level of food hygiene. Many are members of the food safety team, externally trained, and are routinely involved in HACCP assessments.
Our operators also carry out set up, stripping, cleandown and food quality cleaning of equipment. They willingly accept and take ownership of the whole contract process to ensure our customers get what they want, when they want it, with no surprises.
Every operator is trained to NVQ 3 standard in Technical Support with several accredited as NVQ assessors.

The support team

We recognise and value the importance of our small team supporting our production activities. After all, they are probably the most frequent, hence important, contact with every one of our customers.
Whether it is ensuring logistics run smoothly or changes to process requirements are accurately transferred to production, the quality of the communication from our support team ensures Custom Powders operation runs smoothly and efficiently.
Laboratory support and quality assurance is fundamental to the security of Custom Powders operation. Every shift of production is independently cross checked and deviations are rigorously investigated to ensure the product we dispatch is consistent and to the right quality.
In addition, the QA function encompasses regular monitoring of the production environment to ensure the safety health and wellbeing of our operators and neighbours are rigorously maintained.

The maintenance team

Our experienced Fitters are crucial to the smooth running of production activities at Custom Powders Ltd. Multidisciplinary skills enable the Fitters to carry our routine and preventative maintenance, plant development and construction. Additional support is provided by several local high quality engineering companies.
